Effect of Gibberellin on Germination of Teak
- Received Date: 1999-12-28
Abstract: Gibberellin exerts stimulative effect on germination of teak. Under the temperature of 35 ℃, gibberellin improves seeds' germination rate and speed. In dark, low concentration of gibberellin (less than 100mg·L-1, including control treatment) resulted in higher germination rate (more than 80%), lower rotten rate of seed (8.6%) and higher germination index. Light intensity is one of the major factors affecting germination rate during the first two weeks of the test. However, lime seems to be helpless to germination.
