Abstract: Remote sensing was used to monitor the vegetation dynamics of Bawangling forest area in Hainan Island.Three multitemporal TM data of same season in different years were processed using various techniques including spectral analysis, signature selection, and supervised classification to analyze the vegetation change.Bawangling vegetation change detection is an example which provides a feasible method for monitoring the tropical forest in Hainan Island.
